Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority has released updated intermediate textbooks after making changes to eight books under the new curriculum.
Officials from the authority said the previous intermediate books were being taught under the old 2002 syllabus. These have now been rewritten to match the National Curriculum of Pakistan.
PECTAA Chief Executive Officer Syed Musa Raza said the revised books were made available in the market ahead of the new academic session. He said this was done so that students would not face delays in getting updated study material.
According to Raza, the changes are meant to bring intermediate-level education in line with modern academic requirements. He added that similar revisions had already been carried out for classes 9 and 11 in earlier phases.
With this update, the authority has now completed curriculum revisions across multiple grade levels, moving away from the older syllabus structure that had been in place for over two decades.
Students and teachers at the intermediate level can now access the new books through the regular market channels used for Punjab textbooks. No separate distribution process was mentioned for the revised editions.
