A garden setup quote is easier to review when it names the materials instead of hiding everything under one total. Pots, medium, irrigation fittings and supports may each have different quantities and purchase units.
The Garden Setup Budget Calculator uses item rows for quantity and unit price, then adds labour and delivery before applying an entered contingency percentage. All amounts are PKR inputs supplied by you, rather than a live market price list.
Three materials and two other costs
Consider ten grow bags at PKR 300 each, six medium bags at PKR 650 each and one drip kit at PKR 3,500. The lines are PKR 3,000, PKR 3,900 and PKR 3,500, making a materials subtotal of PKR 10,400.
Add PKR 2,000 labour and PKR 800 delivery. The subtotal before contingency is PKR 13,200. A 10% contingency adds PKR 1,320, giving a project budget of PKR 14,520.
| Budget component | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Materials | PKR 10,400 |
| Labour | PKR 2,000 |
| Delivery | PKR 800 |
| Contingency | PKR 1,320 |
| Total | PKR 14,520 |
A quantity needs a purchase unit
Name the row so the unit price is unambiguous. Six 40 litre medium bags at a price per bag is a consistent line. Six entered as cubic metres with a price for a small bag would not be, even though the worksheet can multiply the numbers.
The calculator allows decimal quantities where your supplier sells a measured unit. For products bought only in whole packages, establish the rounded package order first. Raised Bed Soil Calculator, Potting Mix Ratio Calculator and Trellis Materials Calculator provide purchase quantities for their respective jobs.
Check whether a supplier's unit quote already includes delivery or installation before entering those costs again. The tool cannot detect duplicate charges hidden inside a price description.
Contingency is shown, not disguised
The percentage applies to materials, labour and delivery together. It is an allowance in your plan, not a tax calculation or a supplier's confirmed charge. Keeping it separate makes it easier to revise the underlying quote without losing track of that buffer.
Use the saved worksheet for comparison
Record the supplier, quote date and package specification outside the calculator if you need a purchasing record. Its CSV keeps the entered items and assumptions, but it does not confirm prices, availability or material quality.
A setup budget is also different from a period operating expense. Use Kitchen Garden Savings Calculator when comparing produce that replaced shopping with the costs relevant to that same harvest period. Do not quietly turn this one project total into a monthly expense without choosing that accounting basis.
