Build the quote from its actual quantity
Enter a quote for 20 units with a minimum order quantity of 10. Set product cost at PKR 500 per unit, handling at PKR 50 per unit and fixed order cost at PKR 1,000.
The fixed cost contributes PKR 50 to each of the 20 units. Together, product, handling and allocated fixed cost give PKR 600 per unit to recover. A different quote quantity changes that fixed cost allocation.
Solve for margin after the fee
Use an illustrative selling fee of 5% and target margin of 25%. The remaining share available for cost is 70% of price. Dividing PKR 600 by 0.70 gives a unit quote of about PKR 857.14.
For 20 units, the unrounded calculation produces total revenue about PKR 17,142.86 and profit about PKR 4,285.71. Margin is 25% of revenue. This is not a 25% addition to the PKR 600 cost.
Recalculate when the buyer changes the quantity
A request for fewer units can increase allocated fixed cost per unit even when the supplier cost stays the same. Check the minimum quantity and recalculate the quote rather than keeping a large batch price for a smaller order.
The quoted margin describes the costs included here. Customer delivery, financing, returns or other charges must be represented consistently if you intend the result to cover them. An excluded cost does not disappear because the order is wholesale.
Confirm the rounded invoice before sending it
Displayed unit prices and total prices are rounded independently from the full precision calculation. If your invoice multiplies a rounded unit price, check its final total and resulting margin. A small rounding difference can become visible across many units.
