The Whatson Land Area Calculator can estimate a rectangle, triangle or trapezoid from the dimensions you enter. The result is only as good as that geometric description.
It cannot turn four arbitrary boundary lengths into a reliable area, and it is not a cadastral survey. For buying, selling or resolving a boundary, rely on the relevant survey and property records.
A rectangle needs more than four sides
For a rectangular plot, length × width gives area. If the corner angles are not right angles, multiplying two boundary lengths can misrepresent the site.
A triangle uses base × perpendicular height ÷ 2. The height must be perpendicular to the selected base, not another sloping side. For a trapezoid, enter the two parallel sides and their perpendicular separation.
All dimensions follow the measurement unit selector. The sketch identifies the selected shape, but it does not verify that the measurements describe your actual plot.
A 45 × 25 ft rectangle
The checked rectangular example produces 1,125 sq ft, 125 sq yd and approximately 104.5159 m².
If you select a 225 sq ft marla, that area equals five marla and 0.25 kanal. With a 272.25 sq ft marla selected instead, the same area is approximately 4.1322 marla.
The ground has not changed. Only the local unit definition has changed. The calculator offers 225, 250, 272.25 and a custom definition so you can match the convention in the relevant documents.
Write the convention beside the result
A bare statement such as “five marla” can leave an important assumption unstated. Keep the selected square feet per marla with the estimate and check it against the society or property documents.
The tool treats one kanal as 20 of whichever marla definition you select. It does not assign a particular definition automatically from a city name or from the .pk domain.
When the outline is irregular
Split the plot into measurable supported shapes only if you have reliable geometry. Add those areas in a common unit before converting. Guessing perpendicular heights from a sketch can make the final figure look more precise than the measurements deserve.
For an area already stated in documents, the Pakistan Area Converter avoids remeasuring a shape. It converts the supplied value while keeping the chosen marla basis explicit.
The international foot and acre basis used for metric conversion can be checked against NIST’s exact conversion table.
