A result of 880 out of 1,100 is 80%. That tells you the share of available marks you earned. It does not tell you whether every subject is passed, which grade your board will assign, or whether you meet an admission requirement.
The Marks Percentage also lets you enter a personal target. Use it when you want to compare a result with a percentage goal rather than guess how many extra marks would be needed.
Start with the maximum on your result card
Enter obtained marks and maximum marks from the same examination. Do not combine Part I marks with the full two part maximum unless the obtained figure already includes both parts.
The maximum is editable. A 100 mark class paper, an SSC result and an HSSC result can have different totals. Copy the number printed on the document instead of leaving the example value in place.
What 85% means on a 1,100 mark result
The percentage calculation is 880 ÷ 1,100 × 100, giving 80%. At a target of 85%, the required total is 935 marks. The gap is therefore 55 marks.
That gap is an arithmetic comparison. It does not mean 55 marks can be added through a particular improvement examination. Your board decides which papers can be repeated and how an improved result is recorded.
The tool rounds a target requirement upwards to a whole mark. For example, 85% of a 75 mark paper is 63.75. A whole mark result needs 64 marks to reach or exceed that percentage.
A displayed percentage can hide a boundary
Use the underlying obtained marks when a decision is close. A rounded display can look like a threshold has been reached even when the exact fraction is still just below it.
The calculator rejects obtained marks above the entered maximum. If that happens, check for a typing error or an omitted practical component before changing the maximum.
Before using the figure on an application
Compare the result with your original certificate or detailed marks sheet. Enter official equivalence figures where the application requires them. This tool does not convert O Level, A Level or another qualification into a Pakistan board result.
Keep subject pass rules separate from the overall percentage. A strong combined total cannot establish that a failed compulsory subject meets an institution’s requirements. The result card and the current admission instructions remain the documents to use.
