Reading a Fee Ledger Before Trusting the Payout Total

Updated

A marketplace statement can charge commission on merchandise while charging payment processing on merchandise plus shipping. Putting both percentages against one convenient total changes the answer. The Fee Ledger Calculator lets each deduction keep its own basis, fixed charge and tax on that fee.

Start with the receipts, then describe each deduction

Enter PKR 1,000 for items and PKR 100 collected for shipping. These produce PKR 1,100 of order receipts. Add one commission row using the items basis, a 10% rate and PKR 20 fixed charge. Add a payment row using the order basis and a 2% rate.

The commission becomes PKR 120: PKR 100 percentage commission plus PKR 20 fixed. If its entered tax on fee is 10%, another PKR 12 belongs to that row. Payment processing becomes PKR 22 because its basis includes the shipping receipt.

Follow the rows through to the total

  • Commission including its fee tax: PKR 132.
  • Payment processing: PKR 22.
  • Combined deductions: PKR 154.
  • Receipts after these deductions: PKR 946.

Those percentages illustrate the calculation. Replace them with the charges on your own agreement or statement; the calculator does not retrieve a provider’s current schedule.

Why PKR 946 is not the order profit

Product purchase, packaging, courier cost and advertising have not been entered in this ledger. The remaining receipt is therefore a payout estimate after the listed fees. Calling it profit would ignore the money already spent supplying the order.

A fixed charge can also make a small order disproportionately expensive. Comparing only the headline percentage misses that effect. Keep separate fee rows when their bases or tax treatments differ, even if the provider collects them in one transfer.

Reconcile against a real statement

Use one completed order first. Match its item receipt, shipping receipt and each deduction to the provider’s statement before applying the setup to a larger batch. A statement adjustment or refunded fee needs its own treatment rather than a quietly changed commission percentage.

For a broader cash comparison, Seller Settlement Reconciliation Calculator separates selling expenses from withholding and reserves. For the specific Daraz model, Daraz Order Profit Calculator combines a common percentage basis with order costs. Return here when different fee rows need different bases.
