A blank canvas is useful when you need a solid background or transparent starting image rather than a transformed photograph. Its dimensions can be chosen directly without uploading a source file.
Blank Image Canvas generates a PNG using the entered width, height, colour and transparency choice. It does not add text, shapes or a layout automatically.
Choose between visible colour and alpha
A 600 by 400 solid canvas produces a 600 by 400 PNG filled with the selected colour. A transparent canvas with those dimensions keeps that same rectangular grid but shows no opaque fill.
The checker pattern in the preview indicates transparency. It is not saved into the transparent file. A fully transparent PNG can therefore look blank when viewed against a plain background.
The colour field is meaningful for a solid canvas. Choosing transparent alpha does not produce a partly transparent tint or a gradient; it makes the fill transparent.
Pixels are not a print instruction
A 600 by 400 canvas has a 3:2 shape. Its physical print size depends on a chosen pixel density and the printing workflow, not on those dimensions alone.
Generated canvases must stay within the output limits of 4096 pixels per side and four million pixels in total. Large numbers in two otherwise valid fields can still exceed that combined area.
A single flat colour often compresses compactly as PNG, but the canvas size still matters when another editor loads it into memory.
Download the file and use it as an input to an editor or a later composition step. The tool is deliberately a canvas generator, so the absence of a photo or decorative design is the expected result, not a processing failure.
