LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board on Sunday announced a 15 member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The squad was revealed at a press conference in Lahore.
Pakistan have been placed in Group A and will open their campaign against the Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo. The tournament will run until March 8.
The announcement was made by PCB Director High Performance Aqib Javed, T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, and white ball head coach Michael James Hesson.
Several players have earned their first call up for a global event. These include Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan, and Usman Tariq.
Experienced players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, and Fakhar Zaman have played in previous T20 World Cups since 2021.
The 20 team tournament will feature four group matches for each side, followed by the Super Eight and knockout rounds.
Pakistan will also play a three match T20I series against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium on January 29, 31, and February 1. The team’s training camp has already started.
