Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, visited Bahawalpur Cantonment to review operational readiness and preparations for multi domain warfare, the military said on Wednesday.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on operational, training, and administrative matters of the Corps, with a special focus on evolving battlefield requirements and future security challenges.
He also observed the field exercise “Steadfast Resolve” at Khairpur Tamewali, where troops demonstrated the use of modern military capabilities. These included unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance tools, electronic warfare systems, and integrated command and control mechanisms.
Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praised their morale, professionalism, and operational preparedness. He said Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain fully prepared to counter all forms of threats and to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He noted that modern warfare is changing rapidly, driven largely by technological advancements across multiple domains. He stressed that continuous modernization and readiness at all levels are essential to meet future challenges.
As part of the visit, the Army Chief inaugurated the Rohi eSkills Learning Hub, aimed at promoting digital skills, particularly for students from South Punjab and other parts of the country. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, reaffirming the Army’s focus on education and character building.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir later visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on maintenance systems, indigenous manufacturing efforts, and the use of modern technologies to support combat operations.
Earlier, upon arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, the Army Chief was received by the Commander Bahawalpur Corps. He laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs.
