MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has officially announced the release date of his much awaited film King, sending fans into a frenzy with a hard hitting announcement video.
Taking to social media, the actor confirmed that King will arrive in cinemas worldwide on December 24, 2026. The announcement video features striking visuals and a dark, intense tone that hints at the film’s massive scale.
The first frame of the video reveals the word ROAR in bold lettering against a dramatic background. Another visual carries the line, “This Christmas, fear wears the crown,” adding to the intrigue surrounding the project. Shah Rukh Khan appears in a rugged avatar, wearing a torn white shirt with blood splashed across his face, exuding dominance and menace.
Sharing the clip, the actor wrote, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas. #ItsKingTime #KingDateAnnouncement.”
The film was first teased on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday in November last year, when the makers released the title announcement video. The glimpse opened with an aerial view of an island based facility, setting the stage for a high intensity action drama.
SRK’s voice over played alongside explosive action sequences, suggesting that he portrays a ruthless mercenary who has lost count of the people he has killed, with no concern over whether they were innocent or guilty.
“100 desho’n mein badnaam, duniya ne diya sirf ek hi naam, KING,” Shah Rukh Khan declared in the teaser, a line that quickly became a talking point among fans.
Sharing the original title reveal, Red Chillies Entertainment wrote, “Sau deshon mein badnaam, duniya ne diya sirf ek hi naam, #KING. It’s Showtime. In cinemas 2026.”
With its dark theme, powerful visuals, and Shah Rukh Khan’s intense transformation, King is already shaping up to be one of the biggest Bollywood releases of 2026.
