Safe City Authority has confirmed that all official e-challan SMS alerts now come from the number 9915. The authority said the old number 8070 is no longer in use, so people should be careful with fake messages.
An official spokesperson said any message claiming to be from Safe City but sent from a different number should be treated as fake. Citizens are advised not to respond to suspicious texts.
The authority also warned people not to click on unknown links or share bank details. Fake e-challan messages are being sent more often these days, especially in big cities.
Safe City urged everyone to verify the sender before taking any action and report fake messages through official channels.
